About the Marin County Fair

The award-winning Marin County Fair is the County’s premier community event with over 120,000 attendees annually. Marin County, just north of San Francisco, is rich in creativity, nature, and community. Frank Lloyd Wright described Marin County as “one of the most beautiful landscapes” he had ever seen, with green rolling hills providing the perfect backdrop for a county fair.

The Marin County Fair is produced by the Marin County Department of Cultural Services in partnership with the Marin Cultural Association.

Celebrated as the Healthiest and Greenest County Fair on Earth since 2008, the Marin County Fair proudly features a solar powered carousel, solar powered stage, and a 92% waste diversion rate. The Fair offers fresh and healthy food choices, alcohol-free sponsorships, and a smoke-free environment for the enjoyment of all.

The Marin County Fair inspires through traditional values — Art. Agriculture. Community.

Marin County Fair 2023: Electrifying!

From June 30 through July 4, 2023, the Marin County Fair will return in full (indoors and outdoors) for the first time since 2019. With the theme Electrifying!, this year’s fair will celebrate all things electric, solar, and charged with excitement.

The 2023 fair will include fair favorites such as the juried Fine Arts and Photography Exhibit, headline concerts, carnival rides, sheepdog trials, the petting zoo, fireworks every night, and much more. The popular competitive exhibits program will take place in person and celebrate our talented and creative community members with winning blue ribbons and more.

“We are thrilled to welcome our community back to the beloved Marin County Fair!,” said Director of Cultural Services Gabriella Calicchio. “The theme Electrifying! is an opportunity to celebrate the future while honoring the past. Look for special exhibits highlighting the latest innovations to harness natural renewable resources. We are ecstatic about producing an electrifying event for everyone in Marin County.”

The Electrifying! poster was designed by Marin County digital artist Vaidis Valaitis as a special commission for the 2023 fair. Celebrating the spirit of the fair theme, digital art is made by using digital technology, whether computer generated, scanned, or drawn using a tablet and mouse.

See you at the Fair!
